Joe Chan's Galaxy Asset Management, with offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai, is rolling out a greater China fund, having successfully invested the portfolio in-house for the past year with capital form partners and some longstanding investors.
The Galaxy China Deep Value Fund has put on about 200% since its inception in September 2008. The portfolio has assets of about $20 million.
The fund has three main strategies. The deep value element, which covers up to 50% of the portfolio, focuses on under-valued but fundamentally strong listed companies. The pre-IPO portfolio accounts for up to 30% of total investments.
