MCP brings in ex-Evolution chief strategist for Japan play


MCP Asset Management has rolled out the Kubera-Javelin Fund on its platform.

The Japan-focused fund, which makes opportunistic investments in events and short-term, catalyst-driven situations, is being advised by portfolio manager Toko Kondo. Now of Tokyo-based Panache Asset Management, he was formerly chief strategist at Evolution Japan Advisors.

Prior to Evolution, Kondo was a liquid credit trader for Daiwa Securities. Before that, he worked with Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank, Jermyn Street Capital, Paribas Securities and Deutsche Securities.
