Rogers seeding fund eyes 10-15 managers

Ed Rogers' Tokyo-based Rogers Investment Advisors, which has just launched a seeding platform for new and emerging managers in Asia, plans to seed 10-15 managers over the next couple years.

The seeding fund, launched with around $30 million, has a private equity approach to investing in the managers it selects through a six-year investment horizon.

A short list of managers has already been drawn up. The firm is considering a wide range of strategies, from Asia long/short to Greater China-focused, and currency and commodities, but will favour strategies that are popular with investors and that can be scaled up.
